The City is a misnomer. While its bones were formerly a cog of an ancient Elvish kingdom, its present form serves as the refuge for civilisation in the known world. It is a place every Major, and some Lesser, Race calls its home. The City encompasses an area far more extensive than its predecessor, with three-quarters on the mainland and a large island to its south, separated by the Crimson Channel. Far from being a static structure, the City continues to expand over the years like a growing organism.
The City sits on the tip of the last known continent, protected by a massive, semi-circular wall against the harsh climate of the Wastelands to its north. To its south lies the Sea of Clouds, whose name belies its dangers. Aside from the wide variety of carnivorous fauna and flora that live in the Sea of Clouds, it is also notorious for its temperamental weather, capable of switching from calm to turbulent storms in an instant.
The City is divided into four districts. Three districts occupy the mainland: the Pentagon District in the centre, the second largest of the City; the Ironforge District in the west, known for its many industrial buildings and underground mines; and the Peace District in the east, where almost sixty percent of the population lives. The largest district, the Jewel Mountain District, lies on a small separate island in the south. The Crimson Channel separates it from the mainland, with a lone bridge—the Bridge of Stars—as the only connection.
